Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Ask Rosemary ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Ask Rosemary is a recipe app that uses artificial intelligence to suggest personalised recipes based on ingredients you have available, your preferences, and your household needs. The App also provides a meal planner, cookbook, kitchen inventory, recipe import from external sources, cooking guidance, and answers to cooking-related questions.

Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account using Email and password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Subscription Plans

Free Tier

The free tier includes:

• Unlimited recipe generation
• Save up to 5 recipes
• 3 questions to Rosemary per recipe (permanent allowance)
• Cooking mode — step-by-step cooking with measurement conversion
• Basic preferences — region, measurements, household size, cuisine preferences

Pro Subscription

The Pro subscription includes all free tier features plus:

• Unlimited saved recipes
• Unlimited questions to Rosemary
• Free-text recipe rejection feedback — tell Rosemary exactly why a recipe didn't work
• Meal planner — create and manage weekly meal plans
• Pantry and kitchen inventory setup
• Kitchen scanning — show Rosemary your fridge to identify ingredients and find matching recipes
• Dietary preferences and avoided ingredients
• Rosemary's Picks — curated recipe suggestions in the meal planner
• Recipe import — bring in recipes from URLs, pasted text, or photos
• Recipe editing — modify and personalise saved recipes
• Priority support

Pricing and Billing

• Weekly: $4.99 USD
• Monthly: $9.99 USD
• Annual: $59.99 USD

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change.

Free Trial

New users receive a 3-day free trial with full Pro access. No payment information is required to start your trial. At the end of the trial period, you will be moved to the free tier unless you choose to subscribe.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to Pro features until that time.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective policies. We do not process refunds directly.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use automated systems to access the App (bots, scrapers, etc.)
• Share your account credentials with others
• Resell or redistribute content from the App

Recipe Content

AI-Generated Recipes and Recipe Adjustments

Recipes in Ask Rosemary are adjusted and generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for quality:

• Recipes are suggestions, not professional dietary or medical advice
• You are responsible for verifying ingredients meet your dietary requirements
• Cooking times and temperatures are estimates — use your judgement
• Always check for allergens if you have food allergies or intolerances

Imported Recipes

When you import a recipe from an external URL or source, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to save and use that content for personal purposes. Ask Rosemary processes and reformats imported recipes to improve readability — we are not responsible for the accuracy, ownership, or legality of third-party recipe content you choose to import.

Imported recipes are for your personal, non-commercial use only. Do not import content you do not have permission to use.

Food Safety

You are responsible for following safe food handling practices. We are not liable for any illness or injury resulting from recipes you prepare.

Your Saved and Created Content

You retain ownership of any personal notes, modifications, or meal plans you create in the app. By saving content, you grant us permission to store and display that content to you across your devices.

Intellectual Property

Our Content

The App, including its design, features, Rosemary character, and branding, is owned by Ask Rosemary and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

Generated Recipes

Recipes generated for you through the App are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may share recipes with friends and family but may not publish them commercially or claim them as your own original creations.

Push Notifications

If you grant notification permission, we may send you push notifications for trial reminders, re-engagement, and account-related communications. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings without affecting any other app functionality. We do not send marketing notifications to users who have not granted permission.

Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Recipes will meet your specific requirements
• AI-generated or imported content will be accurate or complete
• Imported recipe content will be free from third-party intellectual property claims
• Kitchen scan results will accurately identify all ingredients in a photo

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ASK ROSEMARY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ask Rosemary, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any third-party rights, or any content you import into the App.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Zealand.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
